Early Registration for Winter and Spring Sessions is Underway at Atlantic Cape

By popular demand and new this year, registration for winter and spring sessions at Atlantic Cape Community College began Oct. 30 to help students plan and take advantage of being able to delay their payment until Dec. 4.

The 11-day Winter Term classes will be held Monday-Saturday, Jan. 2-13. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 16. To view a list of important registration deadlines, visit Atlantic Cape’s academic calendar at http://bit.ly/1fwspml.

Atlantic Cape Community College Inaugurates Dr. Barbara Gaba as the Ninth President

Dr. Gaba is the first female and first African American president of the institution

woman smilingAtlantic Cape Community College celebrated the Inauguration of Dr. Barbara Gaba as the college’s ninth president today. Dr. Gaba is the first woman and first African American in office and will preside over the college’s three campuses in Atlantic City, Cape May County and Mays Landing.

Maria Mento, vice chairperson of the board of trustees, presented Gaba with the presidential medallion, representing the beginning of Dr. Gaba’s term. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Community College to Host Open House Oct. 15

people standing in large roomAtlantic Cape Community College will provide information for those looking to earn their degree, begin a new career or enhance job skills at an open house, 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, at the STEM Building of the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet college faculty and learn about degree and career-training programs, take a tour of the new STEM building, and explore the Mays Landing Campus, as well as learn about the enrollment process and financial aid opportunities. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Offers ‘Club 50 Plus’ Enrichment Workshops for Seniors

Atlantic Cape Community College’s Club 50 Plus will offer workshops this fall designed to enhance the personal, professional and social lives of older learners.

Alzheimer’s 101, presented by Alzheimer’s New Jersey, provides a comprehensive overview for anyone who wants to learn about memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11. Registration is required to reserve a seat in this workshop.

During The Essential Tools for Life (and Death) Planning, Raymond N. Beebee, Esq., CPA, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, will provide essential information involving wills, powers of attorney and advanced directives, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Buying on eBay will introduce the world of eBay and review all aspects of how to use eBay for buying, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Community College Invites Students to Hands-On FAFSA Sessions at Atlantic City and Cape May County Campuses

Atlantic Cape Community College invites students to attend a free hands-on FAFSA session for help completing a 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Sessions will be held at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., on the following dates in Lab 132:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 7, 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 8, 5-6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 13, 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 14, 5-6:30 p.m.

A session will also be offered at our Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road in Cape May Court House, from 5-6:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 in Lab 105. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape Community College and Rutgers University hosted a dedication in memory of New Jersey State Trooper Frankie L. Williams on Friday, Sept. 15, at the Rutgers Building located at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus.

Rutgers University and Atlantic Cape dedicated a tree, plaque and street sign in honor of lifelong learner and New Jersey State Police Trooper #7953 Frankie Williams. Speakers included Mr. Dean Wyks, assistant professor of Criminal Justice at Atlantic Cape and adjunct instructor at Rutgers; Dr. Barbara Gaba, president of Atlantic Cape; Dr. Michael Palis, provost at Rutgers University-Camden; Lt. Colonel Patrick Callahan, deputy superintendent of operation, New Jersey State Police; Trooper II Michael L. Korejko, New Jersey State Police #7222; and Dave Coskey, chairman, Board of Trustees at Atlantic Cape. Continue reading
