Atlantic Cape Community College Invites Students to Hands-On FAFSA Sessions at Atlantic City and Cape May County Campuses

Atlantic Cape Community College invites students to attend a free hands-on FAFSA session for help completing a 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Sessions will be held at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., on the following dates in Lab 132:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 7, 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 8, 5-6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 13, 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 14, 5-6:30 p.m.

A session will also be offered at our Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road in Cape May Court House, from 5-6:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 in Lab 105. Continue reading

Time is Running Out to Earn College Credit This Summer at Atlantic Cape

Time is running out to register for summer classes at Atlantic Cape Community College. The final six-week summer session runs July 10-Aug. 17. Whether you’re a current student, recent high school graduate or attending a four-year college and home for the summer, you can earn credits toward your degree this summer.

A variety of credit courses beginning Monday, July 10, include: Introduction to Computers, Public Speaking, U.S. History II, Composition II, Criminal Law, General Chemistry II, Human Anatomy Physiology II, Introduction to Algebra II, Precalculus, General Psychology, Principles of Sociology, Elementary Spanish II and many more. Registration Underway for Fall Semester at Atlantic Cape’s Atlantic City Campus

Classes offered this fall include: Intro to Visual Arts, Intro to College Chemistry, Intro to Business, Principles of Marketing, Intro to Computers, Intro to Public Relations, Television History, Public Speaking, Macroeconomics, Intermediate ESL I, Fundamental English Grammar, Reading/Writing I, Composition I, Earth Science, Intro to Cultural Geography, Western World I, Precalculus, College Algebra, Statistical Methods, Accelerated Elementary Algebra, Music Appreciation, Child Psychology, Elementary Spanish I, and Intro to Theater. Registration is Underway for Summer Classes at Atlantic Cape Community College

Get ahead in your college career with summer classes at Atlantic Cape Community College. Choose from courses in art, aviation, business, communication, computers, English, math, science and more.

The last day to register in person for Atlantic Cape’s first summer sessions is Friday, May 19. Online, mail and fax registrations will be accepted through Sunday, May 21. These deadlines pertain to in-person and online courses for Atlantic Cape’s full session, May 22-Aug. 17; six-week session, May 22-June 29; and the 11-day accelerated session, May 22-June 8.

Students can register at the college’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike; the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd.; and the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House. Continue reading

GRADUATION SUCCESS STORY: Atlantic City Graduate is First Generation Degree Holder in Family

Julio C. Castillo

Julio C. Castillo, 25, was born in the Dominican Republic but now resides in Atlantic City, and will graduate from Atlantic Cape Community College with an associate degree in business administration on May 18. He is pursuing his education at Stockton University, with aspirations to become a Certified Public Accountant. He is the first person in his family to graduate college.

When asked what his biggest challenges were during his time at Atlantic Cape, he responded, “One of my biggest challenges was to fully understand every single detail explained in class by professors. Also, another challenge was having a fulltime job while being a fulltime student.”

Atlantic Cape Community College Invites Students to Hands-On FAFSA Sessions

Atlantic Cape Community College invites students to attend a free hands-on FAFSA session for help completing a 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Sessions will be held at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, May 23, 12:30-2 p.m., in Room 132
  • Wednesday, May 31, 5-6:30 p.m., in Room 105
  • Tuesday, June 13, 5-6:30 p.m., in Room 105
  • Wednesday, June 14, 12:30-2 p.m., in Room 132

Financial aid specialists will provide information, answer questions and help students complete a 2017-2018 online FAFSA form. Students must bring their own and their parents’ 2015 or 2016 tax returns, all W-2 forms and all Social Security numbers. Students must also bring their FSA ID and password and a photo ID (student ID or a state-issued ID.) Continue reading

WorkAC Initiative Helping Atlantic County Residents Find Jobs

WorkAC, a new initiative between the Atlantic Cape Community College Workforce Development Department, the Atlantic County Workforce Development Board and the Greater Atlantic City Chamber have partnered in helping Atlantic County residents find employment.

The WorkAC office, located at the college’s Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., in Room W105 in the Caesars Entertainment Hospitality and Gaming Studies Wing, will be open until June 30. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are not necessary.

Job-seekers will team up with a WorkAC success coach, who will serve as a navigator and advocate to help people find meaningful work. The coach will connect participants to information, resources and the office’s employment specialist. All services are free. Continue reading
