Atlantic Cape Community College celebrated the Inauguration of Dr. Barbara Gaba as the college’s ninth president today. Dr. Gaba is the first woman and first African American in office and will preside over the college’s three campuses in Atlantic City, Cape May County and Mays Landing.
Maria Mento, vice chairperson of the board of trustees, presented Gaba with the presidential medallion, representing the beginning of Dr. Gaba’s term. Continue reading
The college community is invited to attend “A College-Wide Meeting with Dr. Gaba” at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28.
The session will include an update on college priorities and student success initiatives, as well as a Q&A.
All college employees are encouraged to attend; however, directors should ensure adequate coverage for their offices. The session will be recorded and available for viewing for those unable to attend.
The College-Wide will be held in the Walter Edge Theater and will be simulcast to the Cape May County Campus room 113 and the Worthington Atlantic City Campus room 160.

Dr. Barbara Gaba
The Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees named Dr. Barbara Gaba the next president of Atlantic Cape at their Dec. 20 meeting. Dr. Gaba will begin her role as college president effective Jan. 30, following the retirement of Dr. Peter L. Mora.
Dr. Gaba, of Princeton Junction, will serve as Atlantic Cape’s ninth president. The board approved a resolution appointing her to a three-year term running through June 30, 2020, at an annual salary of $180,000.
Dr. Gaba is currently provost and associate vice president for Academic Affairs at Union County College in Cranford, a position she has held since 2002. She is responsible for the overall operation of the college’s urban Elizabeth Campus, serving as the chief academic officer and administrator of the campus providing leadership, vision and strategic direction to the campus, its faculty, students and programs.
