Volunteers Needed for Oct. 15 College-Wide Open House

The Admissions Office seeks faculty and staff to volunteer for our Fall 2017 College-Wide Open House:

Mays Landing Campus – STEM Building — Sunday, Oct. 15, 1-3 p.m.

Students will have the opportunity to speak with college faculty to learn about degree and career training programs, meet with staff to discuss the enrollment process and find out about college services and activities, as well as take a student- or staff-led tour of campus. Continue reading

Atlantic Cape to Hold Paralegal Studies Information Session

Atlantic Cape Community College will hold an information session for those interested in learning more about careers, education and degrees in Paralegal Studies, 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 24, in the S Building lobby of the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike.

The Paralegal Studies Program is an American Bar Association-approved program. The open house is designed for those who are interested in learning more about the program. The program is intended to train students to become paralegals, not to provide training for lawyers or legal administrators. Atlantic Cape offers two Paralegal Studies degrees, an Associate in Applied Science and an Associate in Science. Continue reading

Event Highlights include music by the band Juicy, 10 breweries, food and beer pairings by Chef William McGinnity of Nobil Food Services, crafters, a homebrew competition by Eastern Homebrew of Northfield, paintball battles by Backyard Battles Paintball and much more.

Participating breweries include Tomfoolery Brewing Company of Hammonton, Brotherton Brewing Company of Shamong, Three 3’s Brewing Company of Hammonton, River Horse Brewing Company of Ewing, Pinelands Brewery of Tuckerton, Garden State Beer Company of Galloway, Demented Brewing Company of Middlesex, Ironbound Hard Cider of Whitehouse Station, Yards Brewing Company of Philadelphia and Dogfish Head Brewery of Delaware.

The event is supported by ACIR Professionals, APE Atlantic Power and Equipment, the Atlantic City Beard and Mustache Club, Eastern Homebrew, Farmers Insurance of Mays Landing, Backyard Battles Paintball and more.

Patrons will feast on items from Brickworks Brick Oven Pizza, Smokey’s World BBQ and Nobil Food Service for an additional cost.

Beerfest_FB Event (1)Tickets are on sale for the first South Jersey Craft Beer, Food and Music Festival on Saturday, June 3, at Atlantic Cape Community College, 5100 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing. There will be two sessions: noon-4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m., that each cost $30. Entry fee includes access to the event and brewery samplings.

The South Jersey female-fronted band “Juicy” is set to perform for the afternoon session of the festival, and Geri Mingori will take the stage for the evening session. Other highlights include 10 breweries, food and beer pairings by Chef William McGinnity of Nobil Food Services, crafters, a LuLaRoe vendor, a homebrew competition by Eastern Homebrew of Northfield, paintball battles by Backyard Battles Paintball, and much more.

Homebrew competition participants should drop off two 12-ounce bottles with $5 entry fee by June 2 to Eastern Homebrew at 331 Tilton Road in Northfield. Prizes and gift certificates will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. Continue reading

Registration is Underway for Summer Classes at Atlantic Cape Community College

Get ahead in your college career with summer classes at Atlantic Cape Community College. Choose from courses in art, aviation, business, communication, computers, English, math, science and more.

The last day to register in person for Atlantic Cape’s first summer sessions is Friday, May 19. Online, mail and fax registrations will be accepted through Sunday, May 21. These deadlines pertain to in-person and online courses for Atlantic Cape’s full session, May 22-Aug. 17; six-week session, May 22-June 29; and the 11-day accelerated session, May 22-June 8.

Students can register at the college’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike; the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd.; and the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House. Continue reading
